Spring is … coming?
I’ve been willing it to be spring. And since it technically is spring and we’ve leapt into daylight savings, what I mean is that I’ve been willing it to feel like spring.
So today I didn’t wear a coat.
Yesterday that would have been a fine idea because it warmed up to 50, but today it dipped back to just above freezing. When I stepped out onto my sunny porch I was suddenly taken back to my first few winter weeks in Sydney. Just above freezing was as cold as it ever got there, but here in Minnesota we call it spring.
I can’t wait for summer, and I truly believe this nasty winter is only going to make me appreciate it more. All the wishes I’ve been making to be in Sydney the past three months have dissipated as I remember autumn is beginning for them. And that they don’t like central heating.
Anybody want to join me for a Spring Celebration Barbeque next week? We can use Sarah’s grill.
